Second Democrat enters Lt. Gov. race

A second Democrat is entering the race for Vermont's lieutenant governor, setting up a primary race to choose a candidate to challenge Republican incumbent Brian Dubie.
Brattleboro attorney Thomas Costello, a former state legislator, says he's planning a formal campaign kickoff for July 21.
Costello joins Northfield businessman Nate Freeman in the Democratic primary race.
Costello says he's running because he believes he can provide the leadership to help address "daunting issues" facing Vermont such as health care, energy and criminal justice.
Costello was first elected to the House in the late 1970s and served two terms. He returned in 1995 and served three more terms.
